Are the last maker marked? Any Allach mark? Are you selling these?

                  Hello Robert,

thanks for sharing these pics here!

I wonder if the last two ones are Allach - could it be Meissen as well?

Thanks in advance for your answer regarding this matter.

                    Hello,
Robert, I know nothing about allach other than what I have seen on various sites but being someone who likes plaques, medallions & the like over combat awards I have to say these pieces are without a doubt some of the most beautiful and impressive items i've seen...and to be cased none the less! I have seen the SS julfest plates and candle holders on sites before but these items I've not seen before. Really beautiful items.
                    regards
                    Duzig(Bill)

Best I can recall, the DAF is the only Allach award where the box was not consistent with an Allach box. The piece is marked Allach and that is the only box I have seen it come in. But not sure if its the original box to that piece. Not saying its wrong, I just do not know and will have to look and see if I have that answer.

The second and third plaque I am unaware of and are probably not Allach and indeed look like the work of Meissen as I am unaware of any Allach plaque or plakette with a rear inscription and 99.99% are marked in some way, shape or form. The only notable example that is not marked is the 1936 Fencing medal, which is quite small and I am unsure why it was not marked other than possibly size.

The DAF is unusual as well as it is simply not SS, but then again they had flower growing awards as well.

I think the last two are Meissen pieces and not Allach, if they are I have never seen them and the style while highly detailed is not typical of Allach, at least to my eyes anyway.

                      Best,

                      Kris

                        Kris,

there is no "Allach box" in existence at all - these black boxes (whether they were used for plaques, plates, rallye bowls or other presentation pieces like the Pallas Athene, Moriskentänzer or Munich Child had been ordered by Allach and been produced by a private firm (Kartonfabrik) in southern Bavaria.

What you probably mean is the fact that some (not all) are marked with the Allach mark on the cover - but the boxes themselves were not produced by Allach.

One of the most well-made boxes are the ones for the 1936 and 1937 rallye bowl - and only the second one shows the runes on it´s cover.

The boxes for the plaques were usual market pieces at that time which were in use for Meissen and other porcelain or metal awards - and for jewelry as well.

                          Thorsten,

I meant the box they came with, subcontracting aside. The marking I referred to was on the pieces themselves, not the boxes.

                          Best,

                          Kris

                            Kris,

                            I know.

The DAF box is indeed the original box with which this Allach-made award came.
The party organisations ordered it in this way and so it was to be delivered.

It was not unusual that these things were not SS-related - Allach tried to gather orders to be able to survive, the porcelain market was as tough as it is today.

The flower exhibition was an exhibition rganized by the city council of Munich - so they ordered via their Ratsherr Reinhardt (he was responsible for the cultural things) the awards from the Porzellan-Manufaktur Allach.

They could have ordered as well from Meissen for example but they did not because the "Hauptstadt der Bewegung" naturally supported Allach.

                            Best,

                            Thorsten
