    hello all i have a hj-dj trumpet

here some pic,s it looks good and old i think the model is good there are no markings on it the onely thing i found was a marking ,,made in germany,, it looks strange but i see it before even on hitlers mein kampf they wrote,, printed in germany ,,post war things are marked with west-germany or DDR
but what do jou think about the trumpet ? opinions please ?
    kind regards Hans

The "made in Germany" makes me doubt it is a HJ trumpet.. not that I know much about them. Probably made for export IMO...

These are still made and sold in Germany (or were up until the 90s at least), and the details/fittings seen on this one do not look like the quality usually seen during the 30s. You're right about the 'Made in Germany' markings. It's possible it was period or prior to the III. Reich, but these were used by just about every organization, from the HJ, DAF, RAD, Army, Luftwaffe, etc. to the local baker's guild for their parades.

Just wondering, why would any trumpet used by Germans during the third reich period be marked "Made in Germany"?

For International trade laws requiring the item to be marked with the country of origin. That said, this is not an issue or per regulations trumpet so would have been private purchased at a regular music store in any country.
