    Hi,

I am not Latvian but my lady is, in the Latvian language male names have an 'S' added to the end. So Peter would be Peteris, Oscar would be Oscars etc etc.

Female names end in 'A' such as Elina, Rita, Inga etc etc....

That's a nice find you have, would love it myself!

BTW - Adolf Hitler iela is now Brivibas iela (meaning 'freedom') after the war the Soviets named it Stalin iela I believe).

    Have a good day.

Hi, Adolfs Hitlers iela doesnot sounds right in Latvian. If it was written in Latvian it would say Adolfa Hitlera iela. As much I do know at that time street names were not translated to latvian and said Adolf Hitler strasse in german. In documents and books even ads in latvian papers adress mostly were printed in german. I just looked in some period books - adress is written Adolf Hitler iela or completely in german - strasse. Probably period photos of this street could say forsure. For me item in question more looks made by some person with shallow latvian language and history knowledge.

P.S. this street at russian times was called Lenina iela (Lenin street) not Stalin street.

Maybe the design was written by a german with a latvian mother?
