Political Leader's belt

i am sure someone here can help me with this one.

I just found this at a local flea market.

It has a gold buckle and seems to have been in a fire, but the leather is in very good condition.

Is this a political belt?

These claw belts were worn by political organizations, especially the SA and Political Leaders. Most all SA tunics were worn with this style belt and buckle, and they often wore these with the brownshirt as well. The smaller rectangular SA belt and buckle was rarely worn with the tunic. Both enlisted and officers wore the claw style. They are NOT just for officers. Look and see if it has an RZM marking on the back of the buckle. Most of them do.

unfortunatley, I cannot see any marking on the buckle or belt. Due to the quality I still believe it to be an SA belt though.

Any other opinions before this goes on e stand?

You're fine advertising it as SA or Political Leader's belt. Items prior to 1934 weren't RZM marked. It's probably just an early example. I estimate the fair price to be between $150 and $200. I think RZM marked ones are more desirable, but there's no doubt that it's authentic. I just bought one exactly like yours, but RZM marked, and it has a silver buckle. It cost me $185. Good Luck!!
