NSKK Pennant Question.

I have this pennant that I am considering selling but I cannot find a similar one to compare. All I find are the very common black leather bordered type. Any information on this type (earlier, later, less common?) would be appreciated. Thanks, Ron

Looks good to me. Appears to be a printed type. The stitching and border all seem correct. Can you get a close up of the snap? Not sure if the printed types are early or later. I have a couple of printed types, but not like yours. There seems to have been many variations.

Ron, That clip is correct for these pennants. All of my pennants with lanyards have the same clip.

IMO there were a number of construction methods available at the time, depending on the manufacturer and price the buyer wanted to pay. Some are completely silk screened, some have an embroidered eagle, some had leather edging, some were cotton, others wool. This likely dates from around the same time as the somewhat higher quality leather edged examples, and might have been a less expensive purchase for the NSKK member. The price would be comparable for a leather edged type in the same condition.
