    SA Chevron

After wondering what this item was I finally stumbled across an old thread which identified this as an SA Chevron. This is another piece of insignia that my father brought back from his time in WWII. Hope you like it and all comments welcomed.

Very nice example! This one was made to be worn on the brownshirt, since the triangle material is cotton twill. They can also be found with a wool, tunic colored fabric, and a more olive colored backing for the overcoat. I've seen a white backed one, but not in hand. The white ones are ostensibly for the white tunic, however that makes no sense since the chevrons were forbidden to be worn some 3 1/2 to 4 years before the white tunics were instituted.
