Gentlemen:
I am not a collector of SA but somehow got this.
I checked it against one on peter whamond's site
and it looks similar. Is this real & collectible or just more trash?

IMO it's a copy. The construction and materials are different than any I've encountered. There are a few different styles I've seen, but this one doesn't match any of them. A couple of specific observations would be, first, the white area is normally embroidered rather than being a separate piece of fabric, and second, the weave of the red fabric is much tighter, like that of a collar tab, than that found on this one.
