This is an original example of the buyer's prospectus about the Bug.

This has been reprinted and care needs to be observed when purchasing an original example to ensure that you're not unwittingly buying the reprint.

Here is the another original example of a VW publication that provides an overview to this marvel.

Again, this has been reprinted as well.

Amazing that this little car was the Third Reich's greatest legacy--a machine technically built for "peace". I have a nice color pic of AH and Himmler in the convertible version which I will try to scan tonight.

I still like the Schwimmwagen best for pure aesthetics!:

Be it a 770K Grosser Mercedes or a lowly VW, AH loved convertibles....

Here is my copy of the same pin.

I always wondered if it might be a reproduction, but it appears identical to the one posted below.

                  Additional insight welcome.

Both badges pictured are the fakes as sold by Hammer, P.O. Box 3972, Rapid City, SD (www.hammerwar.com). The one you guys posted is their item #5278 @ $7.oo. Their telltale hallmark is the recessed box with the raised "GES. GESCH." inside,- it's on most of their pins. Also available are:
#39-X Dein Kdf Wagen , 36 page booklet.
#48-8 Der Kdf Wagen, 12 page sales booklet.
#5279 VW Mechanics Spezialist Pin, (blue enamel).
                      #5280 VW 1000,ooo km Driver's Cluib pin/
#5281 VW Mai 1938 pin (black enamel).
#5283 VW Factory Grounstone Laying Pin.
                      #5284 Reichsautobahnen 1000 km 1936 pin.
#5285 VW 100,ooo km Urkunde Certificate (goes good with #5280).
#5286 VW Stadt d. Kdf Wagens Fallersleben pin.

My typo: item #5280 is for a 100,ooo km Club pin, not 1000,ooo as I incorrectly posted.

Additionally, the same group of fake VW memorabilia is available from www.usmbooks.com/pins.html. Their stock nrs. are different.

                            Fears confirmed.

Thanks very much for the information!

I originally suspected the worst about this piece, but when I found this thread, new hopes were kindled. Your confirmation that this is a fake pin is much appreciated.
