    SA Claw Buckle

I bought an SA claw belt. Buckle is marked RZM 24 UE71. I believe the 24 means Overhoff. What does UE71 mean? Thanks !!

UE means 'Uniformen Effeckten'--uniform effects (accountrements).

Thanks, Erich. I knew I could count on you !! What does"71" mean in UE 71? There's also the number "24". Is that the manufacturer? I'll post pics when it arrives. Thanks !!

There is still a degree of confusion in connection with the early RZM and pre M4 buckle markings. It is generally agreed that the first series RZM mark was a number, either displayed in isolation or in association with the RZM logo. In this instance, the number 24 is for Overhoff. The general rule of thumb on buckles is that the number correlates to the RZM M1 codes, i.e., 24 = RZM M1/24 - Overhoff. There is also the inclusion on occasions of the UE mark (and KH mark) and to add to the confusion, the UE number usually correlates to the RZM M5 codes, i.e., UE 71 = RZM M5/71 - Overhoff. The KH (Koppelschloss Hersteller ?) number is usually the same as the M4 number.

        Regards,
