A silver tea-spoon: a piece belonging to one of the Third Reich 'celebrties'?

    Dear all,

Again a question from my side: I bought this (genuine) silver tea-spoon together with some other good TR stuff. The spoon is neatly marked with: 'D R' (Deutches Reich / Deutsche Reichsbahn ?) and an eagle. The detail is very nice and surely executed by a professional (and IMO high quality producing) company. The spoon has never been cleaned and has a lot of dark finish. There are also soon proof-marks: 'B unknown mark - 90' and a number: '243'.

Has someone seen such a spoon before? What was its use? Can it be a part originating from one of the Third Reich 'Celebraties'? Or stands the 'DR' just for 'Deutsche Reichsbahn' (the eagle also faces to the east, so this is also plausible). All comments are most appreciated!

    Best regards,

    Coco
*P.s. due to the nature of this object I had no idea where to place this thread...I hope it is in the justfied forum

        Hello Mario,
It is a Deutsche Reichsbahn spoon, probably from a 1st class dining car.

            DR spoon

            hi seiler,

the B followed by the train picture is the hallmark for the company(bruckmann)
the 243 is the train number it came from.

            best regards

                      Hello NSDAP42.

I don't suppose you know if '241' was also a notable train?

I have a Reichbahn sugar bowl with that number on it.

Just 2 digits away from Goering.............damn!

Looks like '241' and '243' were government dining wagons used by both Hitler and Goering.

So did one of them use my little sugar bowl?

What an amazing place this Forum is.

I haven't got a clue. I got my bowl about 20 years ago. Cost about £30 GBP then, I think. I didn't know whose train it came from until about half an hour ago!
