      I own a cap similar to the one in this (old) thread;
      http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...light=ski+heil

      Same maker, also with a price tag still attached... but mine has a silver buckle and the visor does not have this edge... but no RZM markings anywhere... not in the liner...not on the buckle...
      The "heil" logo has to be war time, right? as it became a sensitive word...

                      MICHAEL-
                      THE INTERIOR MATERIAL IN THE CAP IS A DARK BLUE, SIMILAR TO THAT OF THE CAP BODY.

                        "Ski-Heil"--I don't think anyone would argue with that being Third Reich issue....nice cap .

                        I do have to say I have been looking for a stonemint textbook RZM cap for a long time...they just aren't that common, due to the fact that so many were civilianized and worn out after the war.

                          I WILL HAVE TO BE A MINORITY OF ONE WITH REGARDS TO THE CAP BEING PERIOD. THE LACK OF ANY R Z M MARKINGS AND THE NON STANDARD BUCKLE IN MY MIND ONLY POINTS TO IT BEING A POST WAR CAP-EVEN WITH THE MOTTO. I DO NOT SEE ANY CORRELATION TO THE MOTTO IN THIS CAP AND THE 3RD REICH EXCEPT FOR THE WORD "SIEG."

                            Bob, I agree that it certainly isn't textbook, official RZM issue, but I haven't seen another like it. I also googled "ski heil" and it is a common alpine greeting, even to this day. But we do know many civilian caps were used as HJ caps during the war, but proving the same is impossible w/o provenance.

                            BTW, this is the cap that is most commonly passed off as HJ. Note the rubber edging to the visor--all of these are postwar:

                                This is the most common RZM tag for the HJ wintermutze:
