I always love seeing the items with tag still attached, but I think Bob's subject is a little more specialized.

"Probe" RZM items are not just tagged - they are manufacturer approved samples not for sale, hence the extra cord and RZM metal ball or lead seal with serial number disk. These were samples made and submitted to the RZM by manufacturers and then used as the approved prototype for additional copies for sale. They were, in effect, a master copy on which the others were based.

Tagged items were simply the unissued copies made to conform to the master "Probe" sample approved by the RZM. Probe examples are much, much rarer.
