I am making a display and want to know if the 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class was normally worn in this fashion during "parade" occasions. The cross shown is just paper (I'm planning ahead). The second photo posted appears to confirm this premise. Is the guy on the left wearing an Iron Cross? Is this common? Thanks

Looks like he's wearing the Imperial EKII from the pocket to me...I don't think this was military regulation, but perhaps an (un)common way to wear this medal..others can be much more informative, but this looks like the classic freikorp/early sa type of "wear it all" look of the 1920s/early 30s period.

Well generally it's thought the EK2 would not be worn in this manner, but you do have pictures to prove it. Like the other post said, this looks like one of the early, non regulation type set ups. Perhaps you should look into getting a parade mounted EK2, that would work. If the set up is post 34, maybe an EK2/Hindenburg two place medal bar. These are easy to find.
