    What Is This Party Badge

Would like to know if this badge is genuine, and what does it mean.

    Any help would be appreciated.

It's a party badge for the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterparte Hitlerbewegung who were formed in Austria in the mid 1920's as a rival to the then "official" Nazi party in Austria.

Led by Karl Schulz it faded from the scene sometime around 1930, so these badges are from the very early days of NS history & before Hitler even came to power. I am always very sceptical of the B marked badges as they have been heavily faked for at least 30 years & are the most common style found. The heavily domed unmarked pieces rarely encountered are in my opinion most likely to be originals from the formation of the party in the early to mid 1920's. If any of the B marked badges are original then I suspect that they are from a later period before the movement disappeared.

      Cheers
      Don

Is it just an optical illusion or is there a real dip in the enamel on the 12 o' clock leg of the swastika? I have a fake even with marvelous enamel work, but flat and marked "B" like Don mentioned

Don Scowen is right, the originals are the domed unmarked pcs.,- the B-marked things have "too-fat" letters (sloppy) when compared to the very distinct neat letters of the original badges. The "t" in Hitler looks like another "h" instead of the correct looking German "t" as it appears on originals. On these fakes it looks like Hihler instead of Hitler. Also on the fakes, the pin is too long, expanding beyond the size of the badge, & sticking out on the sides.
