    Hi Michael,

    Could indeed be an WWI vet. organisation, my first thought was Afrika Schutztruppen (colonial league vet.), green piping for (new guinea-Afrika). The manufacture and the different components of the cap, especialy the vulcan fiber visor, seems to indicate a mid/end 20th production, perhaps Afrika Schutztruppen "Freikorp" unit.

    But it's only an assumption, I did not find any document nor period pic being able to support this opinion .
