Gents: There is no doubt this is an early (pre-RZM) Political Organisation visor. To me, it appears to be HJ, but with an early NSDAP cockade (which is the only insignia that has ever been on the hat). I am unaware of any pre-33 piping for Political Leaders in green. Someone believed that this is an early NPEA visor, but once again, I am unaware of any references for it:

Is This Visor HJ, NPEA, or NSDAP?

think so too, manufacture, piping and fabric are typical of an early HJ cap.Straßburger / When in doubt do without...

If you see the visor?
Looks like a normal Heer visor or something like that?
Officially, vulkanfiber visors were to be restricted to the rank of Bannfuhrer and above, but there are plenty of period pics which belie that rule.
Bob, here is a similar hat from the Shutt book attributed to the Asian Oberbann:Attached FilesNEC SOLI CEDIT

The Cocarde Is The Early First Pattern Political Leader Style, Which Became Obsolete By 1936 When The Enameled Version Was Introduced. With No R Z M Tag And This Early Cocarde, My Guess Is This Could Indicate A Political Leader Assigned As A Leader To The Landjahr In 1933 Or 1934. It Is Not Impossible That The Information And Date For The Introduction Of The Green Piping As Listed In The Schutt Book Is Incorrect.

Pascal and Bob,
I think I have to disagree with you first opinion.
I think this was a ''Stahlhelm'' visor.
With later applied insigna.
Look at this one on the collectors guild :

Kind Regards,

Interesting Visor Cap On The Collector's Guild Site. However, The Stahlhelm Uniform Was Feldgrau, Not Tan. Even The Description Refers To That Cap As An Unknown Veteran's Group, Which The Stahlhelm Certainly Is Not. I Believe Misidentified On Their Site. However Caps Are Similar, So?????????? The Eagle Appears To Be An Add To The Cap. I Don't Know Except I Do Not Believe It Has Any Relation To Stahlhelm Units.
