Wow--the first thing I thought of when I saw those was the illuminated manuscripts of the Renaissance--another lost art.

stonemint, there is nothing lost and this script is still common over in Germany for like association awards etc. And there are people in Germany that I will call artists who are still doing such documents. In my master degree (from Nürnberg) are also certain words written in this classic style.
