Interesting article. Is reports about a new "teaching farm" (Lehrhof) for "country duty" (Lehrdienst) for young boys and girls. I´m not 100% sure if the translation of these 2 words is so correct, but it makes most sense to me.
This "teaching farm" (which is actually not a real farm) has been sponsored by the German car company "Volkswagen" and on the picture one can see the handing over. The teaching farm is located near the German city "Wolfsburg", which is still today the headquarter of Volkswagen. Also interesting is the name of the person "Dr. Piech", whose family still today is the major share holder of Volkswagen.
I assume this teaching farm has been installed on the country side to move the kids away from the cities, which are always targets during war. On the other side the kids are teached how to milk a cow, breed pigs, harvesting corn, etc. in order to supply the population with food during wartime.Comment
