    Marine HJ or Signals HJ

This question was brought up in another spot and i wanted to have a discussion here.

Do you think the Dark Blue Yellow piped boards are signals or Marine HJ??

Did Marine wear shoulder boards? Any photos?

The dark blue are more common than black on the market. Why?

    Thank you for any comments

    Hello,

Dark blue boards are for Marine-HJ. They are to be wear by the boys on the "Fahrtenanzug" (camp uniform) and by NCO and field officers on all uniforms.

... and this week-end, I'll show you some pics of HJ-Streifendienst WHITE/RED boards... and I never saw the movie you refer in another thread !

    Best regards

I agree with Debertex. No idea what the light blue boards are for though Paul. They are clearly the HJ design but I've not come across any mention of any other colour than black being used.

Those Streifendienst boards sound interesting Debertex. In the beginning (1934/35) various sources indicate that Streifendienst members were identified by the cuff title only so no special shoulderboards would appear to have been in use at that time. I can't find a reference for when the white/white boards came into existence but all of those I've seen are on black boards so post-1938. Do you have any background info on the red/white boards?

The 663 boards were found in the late 70's or early eighties in a large grouping of flyer and these "yellow" ones. I was told they numbered in the hundreds.

Other than the 663 boards I believe yellow are probably the rarest of the branches (Reg, flyer, motor, signal).

Thanks for the imput Debertex. Do you know of any photos in wear???

I found a reference and another forum member sent photos of them in wear.
They were worn on the overcoats.

I still find in plausable that Marine HJ wore the brownshirt in camp like Debertex stated, but have not found any reference to it.

            Thanks everyone for their imput.
