    Politial Leader Visor Cap Buttons

An odd request perhaps, but I am trying to restore a political leader visor cap that lacks the side buttons. Can anyone describe or picture what the underside of the button should look like? Is it a simple ring shank? Would they be RZM marked? Does anyone know a dealer who might handle these? Thanks!

    political visor

    hi,
not sure if its any help but i have a 99% mint ortsgruppe level visor, also i have a seperate cockade part i use for a display piece.

it has nazi red circle centre with oak leaves around it,although the gilt has long since come off it still has a number and the RZM makers mark.(not sure if this helps)just thought id let you know the main part is stamped,

    all the best

      PL side buttons

      Hi,
they should have 2 prongs and RZM maked, very difficult to obtain alone... without cap
But how many do you need, I suppose 2 ?

        Hi Pascal,
There are no holes punched into the side of the cap so I am assuming there must have been a sew-on version. Yes, I would need two --thanks! Were they RZM marked?
Matt, can you see if yours have the prongs?

          John,
So I assume there are only wire traces on the velvet band.
You can also use non RZM marked golden pebbed buttons, easier to find perhaps.

Here with pics of golden PL chin strap buttons (unissued).

It's always useful to have this kind of buttons...
both are from the same maker, one is marked, the other one...no markings :
            RZM - M5/8 : Assmann & Söhne.

Hello I don't know if these would work. The larger ones are 15mm the small are 12mm. Kirby

12mm isn't RZM marked. It has a 12 a M and what looks like a eagle. It has a star at the bottom

I think you need the 12 mm, the larger one was used to close the back of the PL overcoat.

                      Thank you very much everybody!
Pascal, when you say "wire traces" do you mean thread traces? Otherwise, I'm confused...
