Diplomat Grouping at the SOS

I'd like to here any opinions on the Diplomat grouping that was for sale at the SOS. Without looking at it close I was very impressed by this grouping myself, but I'm not an expert by any means on this type of group. Alex

Do you know who had it for sale or do you have a picture of it?

Jeff, check out the thread on the cloth headgear forum started by Stonemint. He has pictures of a ton of visors, but there's a picture on page 3 or 4 of the grouping. It's really breath taking in my opinion. Alex

Wonderful group and , that explains why someone tried buying the Plessen ID from me about 2 months ago.

One thing for sure ..he didn’t sign his own label. I'd have thought it would have been typed, guess it was up to the Tailor.

I don't remember hearing about his Uniforms being in a collection or on the market before. I wonder if any of the research done on the GMIC thread helped someone to track down Plessen's Uniform Grouping and buy it...or ...Maybe it's not the first time on the market and the grouping has been in collectors hands before ?

One thing that bothers me ..someone apparently lifted/copied the Plessen ID pictures I posted on the Thread and now the Dealer has included my pictures with his grouping.
Read the last line of the sale description --
"Johann Baron Von Plessen diplomatic pass is in the hands of a collector in the United States with the pass photograph. A copy of this diplomatic pass does come with this uniform.
Stock no 39104"
The Dealer never Emailed me for permission .
It even looks like he used the research from the thread to make his description ...glad our Forums can help a dealer make a buck.
Adding a "Face" to a grouping does help it sell and , a Photo ID adds a lot to a group. Maybe I should have watermarked the pics before I posted them

a buck?
You should email Malcolm and ask a fee from him-he can easily afford it, or a favour at least.

Great set, I like the hat & cape , didn't think they had a breast eagle?

This uniform was made for the trip to Rome in 1938, and can be considered a prototype uniform in a way--it was withdrawn shortly after and replaced by the new rank system.

Here are some more shots--it really was spectacular, especially for a civil/state fanatic like me:

This was the only other Diplo hat at the show:
