    AH Silverware

Heres a setting for six(36 peices) of Informal Adolf Hitler Silerware brought back by a US vet who served in an outfit that refitted ships etc as the occupying forces advanced. I was fortunate to find this from his daughter who also had his unit info etc, it was still in his footlocker along with some other items, i.e. flags, armbands etc. Its one thing to find these items but its another to own the documentation and background.

Would it be possible for you to post a clear shot of the engraving on the handles?

            Thanks,
            Rob

Lovely set. Any idea what this pattern is called, or where it's from exactly?

                  AH Silverware

According to the documents provided by the Vets daughter the set was taken from Hitlers Yacht the"Hansa Stadt Koln" by her father, which was docked on the Rhine river in Koln,Germany. There are pictures of this Yacht which was given to AH by the city of Koln and used on the Rhine river. The vet was part of the US unit which provided maintenance to the vessels in harbors after the area was occupied by allied forces . The documents also state that some of the allied high brass used the ship once service had been conducted. You can see the units name on the first picture.

Is it just me, but the initials are HA and not AH? Perhaps it s the HAnsa insignia?

no, because the details show the that A is over the H.

                          interesting set.

there has to be other items from that boat that might have the same type of monogram font?

Incorrect, the A should always sit under the H. I have a few formal and informal pieces, and am sceptical of this claim as AH silver. TR yes, AH.... no.
