    SS Picture

Hello, I have a picture from 1925 of a German Sheperd with signatures on it, has anyone seen it, and information on it would be appreciated. My father collects and got it from a vet a long time ago.

    Mike.

Looks like it's signed by Julius Schreck, Erhard Heiden and Alois Rosenwink.

All were very early members of the SS and NSDAP. Heiden was head of the SS before Himmler. Schaub was Hitler's chauffeur.

Schaub held party number 81, and Rosenwink number 82!

If you Google them, you'll find tons of information.

In 1925, Hitler was on his uppers. The party was very poor at that time.

It would not surprise me if this sketch was a gift to him from his bodyguards.

Hitler was a dog-lover and at that point in his life he often referred to himself by the nickname 'Wolf', so it would have been an appropriate gift and probably all they could afford at that time.

      Robin,
I assume you mean Schreck as he was Hitler's driver. Schaub did hold NSDAP no. 81 though.
