    DAF pin

If I could get some opinions on this one that would be great. Personally it makes me feel weird but I got it for free so what the hell.

    Thanks
    Kenneth

I think you're right to feel weird - the pinplate is a dead giveaway of a modern fake. In fact, there is some discussion that this RAD Abteilung wasn't even located in Brauschweig, so this well-known badge may even be a fantasy.

IMO it´s a fake. I´ve got several of them in the past and they look different, with a best quality. For instance, as Stephen said, the plaque which hold the pin have to be rounded, fitting perfectly in the designed circle. I have now one in my hand with the correct form. For me the others are not fantasy items, but original period items, as proved by the fact that you can find modern copys of them.
Researchers as Angolia and D. Littlejohn think like me too (page 506 on "Labor organizations of the Reich", Bender Publishing).
        Regards from Spain.

Thank you Yancy. I don´t knew that thread. Very very very interesting.
I have got another posible and more believable theory than the Michael´s one: this maybe a conmemorative pin for members of RAD from ABTLG 4/305 who were in Braunschweig for any reason (meeting, working, hollidays...). This is more credible than Assmann´s factory making a badge like this just as an example for marketing, in my humble oppinion.
On the other hand, I´m very exceptical about the Michael´s words when he says that all the other but his badge are fakes, cause, as someone said, there are not noticeable diferences between them, considering that they are hand enameled and finished.
Any case... if some of them maybe made by Assmann for marketing before 1945.... where is the evidence which prove that his badge have to be one of the few made in this date??
            Just my oppinion, of course.
