This Is Not My Area Of Expertise. Howevver, As You Noted, The Manufacturer Marking Is Inconsistant With Original Markings. The White Enamel Is Too Wide And The Red Enamel Rim Is Too Narrow. I Would Not Buy This One.

Also the O's are not round but oval. Doesn't show age. Perhaps better to find a "safe" original. Robert

JUST CURIOUS. IF YOU THOUGHT YOU ALREADY KNEW THE ANSWER, WHY ASK THE QUESTION?

If you show this badge on Party badge collectors (like me) I'm afraid you will not find someone who will give thumbs up for this one. Even if it comes from a German family! A few months ago one of my German dealers told me that he was contacted by a German collector to buy his collection. When my dealer actually saw the (almost) life time collection of this man he could only say that everything was FAKE! I just want to point out how easy a copy can find it's way, even on the source. Can you show us the other badges?

                  Regards, Theo

Well the Badge looked to clean for me so I was not sure about it.
And just because everything was original it does not mean that this
badge was later put to the other badges. But still thank you for your fast answers and your opinions.

I'd lean towards an original early-1935 transitional piece. The "M" prefix wasn't introduced until about March, 1935, but the first license numbers were issued December 1934 / January 1935.

"18" is the Gold-und-Silber Scheide Anstalt at Oberstein a.d. N.

There were still some small variation in the front of party pins in early 1935, mostly from makers continuing to use old dies, before the RZM standardized them.

I've never seen this maker mark before - fake or original - but I give it a cautious thumbs up.

                          this is not my area,

but knowing the generally excellent quality of german made badges, I'd say the perfect swastika borders and width tell me this is an original.

also, aside from the high flash from picture, I like the color of the red under the enamel.

Curse the fact that this hobby has so many fakes, this makes our lives misreable.
