    Help with portrait photo.

    Hi,

I know very little about this photo and would appreciate some help.
    Is he SA?
He is wearing a Niedersachen cuff band, an unknown cloth arm shield and has a helmet on each button. It is dated 1933 on the reverse.
I posted these photos in the "photos and documents" thread but didn't get any replies.

    Cheers,
    Larry

He is Stahlhelm Bund (from Niedersachsen? I guess)

Can you read the word on the top of the cloth shield?

Indeed, the badge above his left (our right) pocket looks to be the Jungstahlhelm sword badge usually worn on civil clothing.

        Cheers

          I think Don is correct.

This appears to be the badge.

            Hi

A big thanks to you all for your excellent replies.

I did not know there was a Jungstahlhelm. What was its role? I thought the Stahlhelmbund consisted of WW1 vets only.

Don is correct about the sword badge. Here's a closeup.

For Ernst. A closeup of the cloth arm shield. I cannot make out the words at the top.

Looks like an Imperial eagle with two small shields under it.

The one at right looks like a white squirrel and the one in the centre a rabbit?

The symbol at the bottom is very similar to the one used by the 58 Inf. Division which came from Niedersachsen.

              A closeup view.

A coincidence maybe but here's a pic from a 58 Inf Division album in my collection.
