                  Hi,

I must admit that I never had such thing in my hand but when I saw these pictures was my first thought "Quality". It looks very well made.

                  Regards, Theo

                    Ron,

The award looks right in every way except for the gold hallmark!

I have seen several of theses awards and without exception they had the "585" hallmark not 835. I don't how significant this is. The reverse set up is 100% correct but it also looks as if the pin has corroded whereas I would have expected this to have also been made of gold (but not necessarily the case-they might all be gold-plated tombak).

                    See attached photos.

There are infact three types of this award. Gold as Stan shows, silver gilded and a Zink general wear piece. All are extreemly rare.

                          Warlord,

That then solves the mystery. The piece which Ron shows is therefore "835" Silver-gilt. Correct?

Of course the mark 835 have to be for silver. But... watching Ron******180;s pictures I wouldn******180;t say that the metal under the gilding is real silver.
Are you sure that this silver and gold patterns did exist before 1945? I heard something about they were made in early 60******180;s.
By the way, did you watch the one for sale in Detlev******180;s site? Don******180;t get nervous. It******180;s sold now for 2000 euros.
What is your oppinion on it? I******180;m hardly surprising for the high recipient number (450 more or less). Every reference books said that no more than 250 were awarded.
And do you know the meaning of this letter before the M1 mark?

                              Gregorio,

Yes I am sure the 585 gold badges are period made. I have see one identical to mine come directly from the family.
