Out of curiosity, why would a bronze object be marked with an 800 usually reserved for silver content?

Sorry to say that i'm not big on this badge. The eagle does'nt have the detail i would expect and the MM is incorrect. The leg in the second R in Nurnberg should be straight and not curved. The MM on originals that i have seen have certain die flaws in the lettering. JMHO. Let's see what others say.

Weitze has a few originals on his site to see what i'm talking about. Only the silver ones should be marked 800 not the bronze.
