In My Humble Opinion, This Is A Fairly Well Done Fake. It Looks As Though It Just Came Off The Assembly Line(which, Likely It Did). There Are Several Noticable Things I Do Not Want. However, Since This Appears To Be A New Generation Of Fake, I Don't Want To Help The Fakers Out Too Much. Also, Although This Cap Is For The 1939 Pattern Insignia, Note The Stubby Wing Eagle Outline On The Top Circa 1936.

Hi Bob I don't think so..

It needs realy a "in hand" examination...

                but :

-the water proof top lining seams really OK (craks in it, no platic),
                -sweatband = "Alkor"
                -side lining...= regular "Rosshaar" made
-chin strap = "Ersatz" = in all case not leather !
-RZM tag = right one !

all this points seams all right,

Here with a close up pic that I could obtain of the front with, what I think, it's alu. eagle added, all seams OK, even the "cello" torsade on the crown...correspond to the wearing period (1940/45) !

For me it's a "Thuringen/Pommern" apple green toped original, but, as said needs a "in hand" examination to be 100% sure.

                    Pascal-
Interesting How Your Photos Provide A Completely Different Concept Of The Cap. As I Have Often Said, Phtots Can Not Always Tellthe Tale. I Judged A Lot From What Appeared To Be A Poorly Fit Lining And What Appeared To Be The Outline Of The Incorrect Eagle For The Period Of The Hat.

                      Bob,
the eagle could be a short wings HJ mod.38, 2 prong holes on the cap behind the swastika.
