Can you shoot some macro images of the slots in the waistband, the swallow's nest, and the inside of the button side of the front edge? Overall it looks okay, but some closeups would be very helpful. Is there some sort of closure device for the bottom edge--I don't see a button hole there. Also, it looks like the camera is focusing on the background instead of the shirt, so you might want to check the framing.

I agree that the buttons are odd, but for me nothing serious to doubt it authenticty.

                          Best,

                            Schwalbennester

This is an old thread I realize, but I just stumbled across it.

Interesting to note that the schwalbennester have 9 bars and the backing appears to be a bright blue? Of course the Heer changed from 7 vertical bars to 9 in 1936 (I'm going on memory) but I don't think I've seen any SA nests which had 9 vertical bars nor do I remember reading anything about 9 bars. Any of the SA collectors wish to comment on this "anomaly."

                            Best Regards,

                            Shawn
