    Hearsay Insignia...

    Gents,

I was recently talking to my mother who had a friend in the family inherit his father's militaria. Among the items were, from the descriptions, a Browning Hi-Power, a NSDAP armband, and two medals/patches (one was reportedly a patch, the other a medal.) Now, I was unable to go and see them this weekend, but I spoke with the man who owns them.

My mother and some of her friends insisted to me that the one medal had a screaming man's face along with a swastika. I thought that this mayhave been a death's head and contacted a board member to see if it rang any bells. Then their story changed that it looked like a man with hands folded in prayer and a swastika beneath him.

I insisted until I was blue in the face that it absolutelyhad to be an eagle.

The owner of the medal confirmed that it did in fact have wings...but it was a screaming man's face above them.

I grew tired of arguing...so I pose the question for your opinion:

Is it, most likely, a Luftwaffe eagle...or some other medal that MAY resemble a screaming man's face? Feel free to chime in or illustrate for me any guesses you may be able to come up with.

One final note...I showed my mother every variation of a death's head. None of them were correct.

    Thanks,
    ZaCK

    Nskf

NSKF insignia often had depictions of a person with wings. (patches and medals)

      Medal

You will need to wait and see. That could be a tinnie or? Usually descriptions by people who do not know Militaria are off. Maybe it is a NS tribute badge to Edvard Munch.

There are medallions of Hitlers head giving an impassioned speach..pre RZM to be sure..but would have some of the components in your search..best to see what it is..could make you laugh..as far as a description goes...

            Many thanks

Many thanks! It turned out to be the NSKF patch. I remember him having two of them. Unfortunately he wasn't really interested in parting with them...but really was storing them poorly. Ah well. Thank you all so much for your help.
