I watch so many of these old political leader armbands go for big money on Ebay, Ipier, etc., but they are all reproductions just like the one you shown here. The tell-tale signs are the zigzag material used for the stripes (no original German armband ever used these and don't let anyone tell you differently), and the fact that the stripes on originals rarely went under the white center disc because these were all homemade examples using existing NSDAP armbands that already came with the circle/swastika sewn on to the armband. The rarety alone of original versions of these armbands precludes them from being for sale in the open market on a regular basis. I have only seen 3 original versions in my 17 years of collecting just German armbands (the stripes were bullion and ended at the white disc). I hope that you did not spend much money on this. No problem Bruce thanks for the info. I picked this up several years ago. Armbands are not my taste so that is why I posted it here before I tried to sell it. Didn't lose to much on it though. Thanks again Dave.Comment
