    Armband opinion please

    Hi Guys
    Could someone identify this armband please. Was once told it was Latvian SS. But when I showed it to someone who was in the Latvian SS he did not recognise it.
    Also what would it be worth?

      Hi Ross, the armband is a Latvian SS Helpers armband. See Angolia page 468

      I am not sure about the orginality of the armband. From the front is does look "ok". Please bear in mind I have only seen the one in the above mentioned book But I am a little worried about the rubber stamped NSDAP marking? I am not sure why this would be there? To me this would raised concerns about originality.

          I agree with Ade,,the stamp doesn't make sense....

          In Littlejohns 'Foreign Legions of the Third Reich vol.4' he states that none of the Latvian veterans interviewed said they had never worn such a armband..

          At best made late war and never issued due to supply problems,,OR has there been a new period photo of one in wear to turn up! !
