You could use a 1933 Partie Tag rally badge or a 1931 SA Rally badge like this one An SA sports badge would be OK too.

A WW1 EKI might be possible as well, but the loops are set a little bit too low on the chest for this I think?

    Cheers, Ade.

Hi Justina, (EKI = Iron Cross First class ) like I mentioned, it is a possible, just the loops are set a bit low on the pocket.

          Cheers, Ade.

No such thing as a dumb question

The loops are to hold one badge.

                Cheers, Ade.

                    Hi Justina,

Erich and Ade have given you good advisements. The shirt is for a "Blockleiter" rank of collar tabs, for the "Ortsleitung" (or commonly refered to as "Orts"), as dictated by the blue piping on the collar tabs and collar. The tabs are of the third generation of political insignia, used from 1936, through '38. If I'm not mistaken, the light "Havanah" brown, and wider belt, was used begining in '38, also at that time, the shoulder cross-strap was eliminated. So, it would be more proper for this shirt, to find the thinner chocolate brown belt, to match the strap, versus the other way around. So, I think you have more of a time period mismatch going on....(I think).

Ade was correct on the button-hole style flag pin. That would have been for a civilian supporter. These type "WHW", or "Winterhilfswerk" supporter pins were sold by the crate, to raise money for the war effort.

As a sidenote: I have never seen extra wide belt loops in Havanah brown, for ataching a shoulder strap to one of these wide light brown belts. Nor have I ever seen a shoulder starp in light Havanah brown..............I have seen a Y-strap arrangement in Havanah brown, for a PL musician to carry an instrument like say a drum, but never a single shoulder strap arrangement. And I WOULD LOVE to be proven wrong on this, as I've search long hours to find such a strap, and it's belt loops....

Thanks johann, the pl shirt brown, belt, a pair of black pants and a political tunic with pants moth niped up pretty good! and also a bunch of Hj books.. They all came from germany when my freinds husband was doing constrution over there many years ago?He finaly decided to get ride of the group?he found it all in a box in a old barn they were Tearing Down?i found a black armband in the moth nipped tunics pocked along with a tooth pick, part of a cig pack....i sold the pants and tunic to a forum member....if he knows what he is doing he could use the pants to fix the tunic?they are a perfect match! As you see The callor tabs are moth niped up to,but i Think iam leaveing as is..as you were saying the large brown belt might have went with the tunic and the shirt needs a smaller one.they are i beleive from the same german as the size is the same as the color pipping to the callors?well now i will search for a smaller belt...what do you think abought the one with the bird on the buckle? The Guy Belived the Group That was boxed up and put in the barn that came from the german that lived in the house next to the barn?well i said You Think !!being a smart ass!well thanks for the help, and what iam trying to do is get a full dummy display with the brown shirt since i have a nice pair of black pants that i belive are an original set...maybe you could guide me as far as boots and were to buy a nice maniquin?and what abought the hat ??what would go with this?well so many qustion i know.....

                          Justina,

As you said, if these peices that you've described were found boxed together, collar tabs and piping color the same, then they ARE most likely from the same fellow. I would agree that the wider belt that you have, probably went with the tunic, but it could also be worn with the brownshirt, but without a shoulder strap. You want a double claw buckle belt, in chocolate brown leather, with a gold colored buckle. Either black or gold breeches would have been worn with the brownshirt. If you have the black ones, then that's probably how he wore the set. Either black or brown boots would have been worn. Political uniforms were mostly worn with brown boots. They are the high calf boots, with the stiff uppers, like the ones in this picture. I hope this will help.
