I wouldn't claim to be an expert on these, but this is not one that I'd want IMO, the details are really poor compared to the original D.E.P 32's which are one of the higher quality makers of this style. I'm guessing yours is a recast of an original D.E.P 32 as yours has many small recasting pockmarks and the peen dimples around the swaz on yours also look cast - not hand-hammered as they should be, refer to Mark Scullin's fine original example previously posted.....
Hi he is right the one you show has a lot of little air whole in the front of it not what one would expect from a original one. And they did make them out of cast iron. The second one the detail on it is what you should see and no air holes in the molding. Cliff
Mil is right. And it's not DEP, but D.R.P. = Deutsches Reichspatent (which is normally not on these eagles).
But known as 'Dep32's to collectors due to the inscription on the back of some of the original examples of these eagles, either way Cliff & Mil are spot on, these are found in bronze and cast iron- not aluminum and the one that Chris posted to start this thread is a reproduction .
