    Berghof haul

Here is a group I have been working on for a while, and which finally arrived today. It came direct from the family in France. The veteran was one of the famous 'Rochambelles' – a unit of female volunteer nurses attached to the French 2nd Armored Division, commanded by General Philippe Leclerc. Her unit went all the way from North Africa to Berchtesgaden, where she was one of the very first to arrive.

The tray is the standard AH copper-bottomed Wellner heating tray, measuring aprox. 16 inches across, and serial-numbered underneath. The monogram is roll-stamped as you'd expect.

The oversized leather manuscript/book appears to be some kind of play, called 'Der Deutsche Wandersmann'. It is 46 pages long and beautifully hand-calligraphed throughout. The inscription page at the start contains a birthday message to Hitler on his 50th birthday, with greetings from a Herbert Fischer. I believe Fischer was the head of the Gestapo in Radom, Poland. He disappeared after the war and was declared dead in 1962.

Happy to share it with you guys, hope you enjoy looking.
