    Eva Braun Fork

    Not sure where to place this post.

    I inherited this EB butterfly monogram fork. Can anyone here authenticate it or point me in the right direction?

    Impossible to authenticate ad thousands of plain old knives and forks have been given the EB treatment for over 50 years...so likely just one of those.

                It’s the right maker and silver hallmark but these were made in there thousands
                Buy a fork which is worth less then £10 scrap add a monogram and you potentially have a few hundred profit

                    As Kehlsteinhaus responded: "Impossible to authenticate," since there is no such thing as an "official" or "standard" pattern for Eva Braun's tableware. As with the many different examples of "AH" initial silverware in numerous patterns, so too with the "butterfly" examples, produced on many different patterns of silverware. All such "butterfly" pieces were gifts to Eva Braun, and they came with many different silver patterns.

                    I also checked with the reference works produced by both Dr. Mark Griffith and James Yannes and none of their books include this pattern of EB silverware. Of course this does not disprove that this particular salad/dessert fork was part of a gift to Eva Braun at some point, but without provenance, there is nothing that establishes it, either.

                    As you said, at least you didn't have to pay for it. Many collectors wish they could say the same!

                      Thanks for looking this information up. I appreciate your help!! As you said nothing lost. At the very least it has sentimental value as it was my father’s.
