This is referred to as an NSKK sport shirt eagle for Motor Brigade Westfalen. They were definitely worn on an NSKK track suit (which may have been a work detail outfit), as shown on some period photos which were available on WAF a year or two ago. Scare to find, I collect them by Motor Brigades or Motor Gruppes, but already have this example. Am seeking them for Motor Brigades Nrh, Th, Sa and A, of which I have seen examples, as well as others. The one that you have is an original piece.

Here the desciption from the 1936 uniform-regulation for the NSKK along with the abbreviations from that moment. Later others were added, for example due to the annexation for Austria
(districts Ostmark - Om, Alpenland- A and Oberdonau - Ob?) and later Sudetenland (Su), Danzig (possibly Dz), Warthe (Wa), Wien (W) and Generalgouvernement as GG).
and when other motor-brigades were created (for example Hamburg as Ha). For the skiing dress another eagle form was introduced..
If with the overall the same eagle was worn is possible, but for example for the Motorlehrsturm L/B "Bernd Rosemeyer" there apparently was no information included.

The tag with post 1 is for HJ. The early pattern did not have abbreviations and the eagle was different.

What I said after Austria I cannot get stated for 100%, as there is no information in the Verordnungsblatt NSKK.
I have seen Danzig also indicated as Danzig-Westpreussen en further I saw Egerland mentioned. I could not
get stated the abbreviation as M-Br. was changed into M-Gr when most brigades became a Motorgruppe.

Maybe somebody has stated information about the abbreviations since 1938. One must also know that some
of the groups were renamed. For example in April 1941 it was noted that the former Motorgruppe of
Kurpfalz-Saar was renamed into Westmark and the abbreviation was then as Wm. The former motorgruppe
Westmark was simultaneoulsy renamed into Rhein-Mosel and so the abbreviation RM came into being.

"Ha" was for "Hansa". Hamburg was "Hbg"

Correct that does look like a HJ tag, IMHO the factory may have used what they had available on the back.

Yes it is an HJ tag.

Not the first time I’ve seen that.

I got the NSKK sleeve shield driving instructor from the same picker.

Also got the #30 Gold Wound Badge, HJ Proficiency Badge, cased gold Mother’s Cross and a wonderful Army dagger Eichorn with honey orange grip.

Many thanks to Mr. Saris for posting the original regulations for this insignia. Much appreciated!

A supposition on my part is that if the NSKK followed the SA in its use of abbreviations (at least as far as they line up between NSKK motor groups and SA gruppes), when Austria was annexed, they identified the Donau area with the initials, "DO," and the other Austrian SA gruppe was Sudmark designated with the initials, "SM." The SA Gruppe Ostmark - "OM" was for the Gruppe South and East of Berlin which was based in Furstenwald-Spree and later became SA Gruppe Oder. I note that the abbreviations in the 1936 regulations include "OM," and thus expect that these insignia with that abbreviation came from that area.

Also, the regulation uses the abbreviation "L" (I think). That is the only one which was not used by the SA for its gruppes. Does anyone know what NSKK Motor Gruppe that designated? Could it be "Liebstandarte" or "Leipzig?"
