The Hilfszug Bayern

The caravan was part of the national-socialist propaganda campaigns. They were motorized catering columns (around 60 vehicles), which were intended for advertising and propaganda events (parades, party congresses, celebrations, etc.). The vehicles were manufactured by the Magirus company in Ulm. The most famous, the Hilfszug Bayern was named by propaganda as the only great catering train in the world.
Here I post an original photo of the Hilfszug Bayern.

If one would like to know more about the Hilfszug Bayern, he then should consult volume 4 from the series "Headgear of Hitler's Germany".
The pages 452 through 472 do cover this subject with about 27 photos and images and lots of explanation. The HZB was supervised by the NSKK, Standarte M86 from Munich.
This Hilfszug was at one moment a part of the Reichsautozug Deutschland, which is covered in volume 3 of this series. The pages 457 through 475 cover this subject with about
23 photos and images. The RAZ was supervised by the Oberste SA-Führung. Both together were assigned to the Reichspropagandaleitung der NSDAP.
Many of the photos for the sections mentioned in the series came from the city-archive from Munich, as well as Magirus (in fact Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz AG at Ulm).

I've got a number of photographs of different vehicles produced by Magirus for various purposes for the Hilfszug Bayern, which was under the auspices of the NSKK. The similar Reichsautozug Deutschland, also operating with customized Magirus vehicles, was under the auspices of the SA. Some of the vehicles were for cooking and catering, but there were also vehicles for broadcasting, filming, surgical procedures, showing films, etc.

The Hilfszug was for food; the Reichsautozug was for taken care of events by means of amplifiers and such, as well as the building of stages and other things. are wearing lighter colored overalls with a garrison cap. The car pennant
has an early form of national emblem.

High level visitors at the "Reichsautobahnhof", the enormous RAZ garage,
in late 1936. Next to Goebbels is Hugo Fischer, who points towards the vehicle.
He was the Reichspropagandaleitung staff-leader. At Hitler's right is the RAZ
leader, SA-Obergruppenführer Hermann Schäfer. Note the RPL motive upon
the side of the amplifier loudspeaker truck, as well as the elevated footbridge
for inspecting.

May 21, 1936: the first public appearance of the RAZ caravan during the
opening of the Reichsautobahn-section between Köln and Hilden. The driver
leaning out of the vehicle and chatting with a member from the SA, is wearing
the garrison cap with its unique insigne. SA are guarding the motorway. The
crowd on the overpasses mainly are political leaders with their party flags.

This is mentioned in order F/Ch. Nr. 11 130 from December 29, 1939 and other publications.
Not much of them are known to exist in collections these days!
