    Opinions on this GPB

    Dear fellow collectors,

I would kindly like to ask for some opinions abou this GPB what was offered to me, the missing numbers are just covered on the picture of the reverse. It is not No. 2, thats for sure.

All what I have are these two pictures here, I hope they are good enough.

In my eyes it looks good, but I just want to be sure.

    Thanks

    Matt

It is a good one. Silver wash on the letters and swastika outline seems to have worn off or more likely polished off. You had me excited about the "2" until I read the whole post...

I agree with Stephen that this is an original large Deschler GPB, though I see no sign that the other "numbers are just covered on the picture of the reverse."

          Nice original.

What's so secret about the NSDAP membership number?

Thanks for all the comments on this badge, regarding the covered numbers, I have absolutely no idea, I have to ask the guy who wants to sell this badge to me.

August von Mackensen: When you said "It is not No. 2, thats for sure." where does that information originate? Is that your opinion or is that of the person/dealer who is offering it to you for sale?

              A very interesting badge!

Thanks again for your comment, the answer is quite simple, in the same mail containing the pictures the seller claimes that he's hiding the missing numbers, thats all.

I can see where the numbers are covered.

Looks like a five digit number to me.

Yeah, at least a five digit membership number.

Also from my side, a 5 digit number, anyway a good looking badge in my eyes.

Has he told you the number? If not probably means he has tried to put a name to it but no luck so selling it like he is to tempt someone else to take a chance naming it.

Thanks, Matt. If you find out what the original number was, let us know; perhaps someone here may be able to help you identify your badge.

                            Stay safe, my friend,

Ok, I will do so if I once got the badge here.

Thanks to all and all the very best
