Picked up this SA Brown Shirt and was wondering what rank this is since it appears to have never had any collar tabs sewn on. Also what Gruppe would this be? Many thanks!

The color combination denotes it as a shirt from the SA group “Thüringen“ = Thuringia:
- Silver buttons on shirt
- Red-white piping around collar and on shoulder board

I don't think it was necessarily put together post war. SA Anwärter (candidates) wouldn't be issued collar insignia until they were accepted into the SA.

In my experiences with shirts that do not have sewn though boards have been post war applied. Not saying all shirts with top sewn boards didn't happen, many period pictures to prove that did occur. Collar piping to me looks odd at the end. So, is the thread left or right twist ?Comment
