Early NSDAP Armband with 4 bars?

    Hi
No idea if this is original or a fantasy piece. The closest I could find that was similar is the early NSDAP Leader's armband, where bars mean ranks.
    Thanks & regards

I know they exist with 3 bands or stripes but not sure about 4...

IMO regardless of the number of stripes, this one is not an original. This style, with various numbers of stripes made of HBT woven fabric tape, used to be listed on Ebay nearly all of the time. This one shows typical artificial aging and soiling.

Agree with Erich. Construction of this type is a giveaway. I believe these only went up to 3 stripes as well (in regulation at least).

I have been seeing a bunch of fakes of these coming out within the past couple years.

                  Hi
Thanks very much for the information. The current Coronavirus epidemic is bringing out people wanting to 'thin out' their collections and often there is a fair amount of wrong pieces, unbeknown to them.
                  Kind regards
                  John

Do you see the irony that the armband could have also come from China?

In any case, don't let it cough on you.

You are right about 3 stripe bands. Here is period photo of Walter Buch In the center with 3 stripes armband.

The photo shows Alfred Proksch, the highest leader from Austria. The image with the various patterns is from an Austrian regulation
"Das Dienstbuch der NSDAP Österreich, Hitlerbewegung" from March 1, 1932. The regulation was signed by Proksch.

three stripes is for members of the Reichsleitung.
Proksch, as Landesleiter, was allowed to wear another version: two stripes and a rosette in the middle of the swastika.
He will have chosen for the Reichsleiter version.
