    Carved Wooden Eagle

    Hello all!

    i was wathing journal films from norway today at NRK from the 40ies and find this beauty bird, anyone seen it before?? i guess it did not surrvive! anyway here seen it?

    I got a big wooden bird myself, and its impossible to say if its period done, anyway hera are some pics

      Interesting piece from Ratisbons. It seems that the swastika may / may not be original to the carving?

        I was once sitting in a pub in the middle of nowhere in Bavaria and told the owner how nice the room was. He told me that his father had to remove all the wooden swastika emblems which had adorned the walls during the Third Reich period.

        I sat there sipping my beer and taking in the history.

            Thank you i am glad you like it as i do but i also know its impossible without period pictures to proof that its period carved, here are a picture of the back of the bird.
            and it certainly looks to have some age.
