Eagle Order - Opinion???

Hello Guys,

One friend sent to me these pictures. I have no knowledge of political decorations and I never had one of these in hand.


Is this an original award? What is the class?

Erster Stufe (1st class) 1937 with extremely lot of patina. These silver crosses ("900" stamped at the bottom left arm) are gilded and if dipped they would sparkle. I wouldn't advice that procedure though.

you are right, there is "900" in the arm.

I also own a 1937 1st class, and the gilting leaps out at you.

What happened to the gilding on this example?

As said a 37 very hard to find .
I have several of these some bright some very dull . I think it is down to environment (storage ) that affects this.
