    Small gold pendant A.H.

I hope, this is the right place to show this small pendant....:

Small pendant made of gold with a picture of the Führer on one side and the writing" Anni Winter 1934 AH" on the othe side.
This item was sold by Hermann Historica back in 94, but what do you think of it?

Anni Winter was the "housekeeper" of Hitler for 16 years...

    Thank you for your help!

Hitler didn't wear a cockade on his hat until 1938...

Very interesting piece. Anni and her husband, Georg Winter, were live-in servants to AH and they lived at his apartment on the Prinzregentenplatz in Munich from the end of 1929 till war's end; they also traveled out to Haus Wachenfeld/the Berghof to serve there as needed. So the relationship between the Winters' and AH is solid. That said, I wonder what provenance this little gold pendant has which establishes that this piece was actually given to Anni by AH and that she had it in her possession from 1934 onward? Is the AH portrait artist-painted or is it a printed piece? Is there any gold marking on the pendant, or maker's mark? These are some of the questions which such a piece raises for me...

      Cheers,

It is painted imo and I could´t find stampings on it, but I got it from a friend, who found one, I´ll check that tomorrow!

The miniature painting is based on a portrait painted by by famous NSDAP artist Hugo Lehmann in 1939 titled "Der Führer", which was itself based on photos taken of Hitler by Hoffmann the night he proclaimed the establishment of the Greater German Reich in 1938. It is hard to square it with the 1934 date on the reverse.

Until 1936, you only find wall decorations with the younger Adolf !

SJL is quite right. The painting does match 1934. The only way this could be legit is if something else was in the frame when given and the painting was done later.

A great observation and connection, Stephen! I also agree with Tony T-S, though this piece does not appear to be a "frame" or a locket, but a solid pendant, and in that case, the central space on it's obverse would have to support a photo or a painting directly applied to the gold surface.

"Must be from the Anni Winter hoard"

Right, Andreas...I seem to recall that, too...

                          Hi,

everything that is linked with the infamous Anni Winter should be taken with a lot of caution and skepticism...
She tried to pass/passed different hoards over the years, starting from the late 40's/early 50's.
And i'm speaking of identified hoards, not all the other items that were not identified by the police, journalists, collectors or auction houses...

This one is clearly a very bad fantasy fake.

                          See You

Thanks for your input, Vince, though I'm wondering whether you can say more about your conclusion that this piece is a fantasy fake.

                            With appreciation,

                              Hi,

like sjl said, the picture itself is taken from a picture then painting from 1938/1939, and is put on a 1934 dedicated AH pendant...

                              Marty, to the DeLorean !
You need to come back with me !

Additionally this pendant is abyssmally ugly.
Hitler would never give this kind of crap, and no one would be happy to wear a such horrible pendant...
Better to cut of the head of Hitler of a postcard and stick it on the pendant.
