many scratches, the seller told me it comes from a raided clasp....but should be ok

Looks ok to me.

The bent ring might be the result of it being taken from a spange, who knows. It's a pity there is no original ribbon with it though, replacements are difficult to find.

Original. But there is no collection interest. The locking ring is bent, the movable ring too. They are not difficult to find in good condition.

I'm a sucker for abandoned puppies...Specially since a lot of them winded up that way because IMO, we so called "protectors of history" contributed to their demise as much as the war time bombings or the post war denazification process when they were burning this stuff in the streets

As long as the price is right, nothing that cant be fixed here from what I can see but you'll also need a bit of luck because as Jamie says the original embroidered police (or customs) ribbon is not easy to find on its own

yes - the ribbon is hard to find......but price was really good - so its ok for me

That's all that really matters with collecting at the end of the day, as long as you are happy with it.

It's always nice having complete items ie with ribbon, eagle device, box etc, but if you find something that you like then always go for it (as long as it's real lol).

Here are just some examples though, of how nice they can be when altogether
