YES I am aware these pics are horrible, it was the best I could do with what I had.

Can anyone inform me what this donation box and/or safe exactly is?

On the side of it it has HILF AUCH DU which translates to Help from you

Its rather small, well smaller than you would expect.

Any help???

Yes, I agree, thats why I dont get this one. its larger than the typical red donation cans and has a lock on top. I have done some research and I cannot figure this one out. It appears to be of period yet other than the carved motto on the front it doesnt have any other writing etc.

I was told it was a vet bring back, its rather ornate, heavy, and appears to be excatly what it is, EXCEPT I can find NO RECORD of it

From the pics I can't see anything that relates it to police/civil organizaions , even to the Third Reich. For alla I care it might be a box to collect offerings in church, even predating 1933.

I tend to agree, I too believe its pre dates the war for sure, however I always thought ( Hilf auch Du ) was always a term used by the SA during donation drives? Again I dont know for sure....mystery
