I do not collect objects like this, so I am clueless. A family member bought this object on a flea market and needs help with it. What is it ought to be? Would you know what the abbreviations stand for?

In the past few hours I have used Mr. Google and found this:

From the description, badge existed. Although I am not sure what purpose it had.

I just received a message from another collector and I though it may be useful to be posted here:

“It is an original badge, used by workers in so called front reparatur betrieb. this is some kind of workshop that exited to provide service to the cars, planes and any kind of motorvehicle nearby the frontline of battle.
many german manufacturers had this kind of maintenance to their products.
the badge itself was used to get access to them. they exist in different colours.“
