Black Police Sports Shirt Eagle

Hello,

What police organization wore a black version of the normal 2nd model green sports shirt eagle on the front of the exercise shirt? Seems to be the same size, just black in color.

Robert,

By chance it's not a black and white photo is it? While I'm not entirely clear on circumstances of the use of black, it does appear it existed, see post #204 in the below linked thread, along with multiple other variations of sports shirts including what appears an all black with white insignia. Note that example in the linked thread is the earlier pattern with right facing eagle head vs. left.

Any chance of better photos? Is the sport shirt the typical example made from the same material and marked similar to known period examples?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for replying. The photo is color and small, and I don't have additional details. I believe you dug out the best representative photo, though; it appears to be the version that is center bottom in Gunny's collection.

I appreciate you taking the time to surface it.
