Agreed, very nice grouping and interesting to note he was a Hauptwachtmeister on the earlier Olympic award doc and latter a war appointed officer. Also interesting to see the universal document with non awarded awards struck out. Thanks for sharing!
Interested in the Gendarmerie - Schutzpolizei - Gemeinden - Feuerschutzpolizei - Wasserschutzpolizei - Etc. Looking For Anything Polizei Related!

Looking at the dates, it is interesting to form his history. Joined the police in 1913. Born in 1893 or so. Yet only a senior wachtmeister in the late 1930s. Served in Berlin Wilmersdorf/Charlottenberg area and it seems never left. As the younger officers went to the front with combat battalioins, senior non-coms like Mevissen took the Revier-Offizier course and took over their jobs in the cities. Note the ink stamp on the Preliminary Authorization for the KVK I m/S: Schutzpolizei-Abschnittkommando Wilmersdorf. In July 1944! You wonder if he was there in the aftermath of the failed putsch or whether he stayed to the end or managed get out of the Russian encirclement several months later.
